FINE QUALITY GERMAN FLINTLOCK BOAR GUN SIGNED GOELLNER IN SUHL CIRCA 1830. 29” o/a with .62 caliber smoothbore octagon/round barrel shortened to 13 ½” length. Barrel inlaid in silver gothic letters “GOELLNER IN SUHL”. Ornate engraved German silver mounts and checkered and carved walnut stock. Finely articulated frizzen assembly with waterproof pan and engraved lock plate and hammer with the former gold inlaid “GOELLNER IN SUHL” forward of the hammer. Gold touch hole bushing. Fine and original as shortened. Lock in working order and very good bore. G.A. Goellner of Suhl is listed in the Der Neue Stockel on page 442. Active dates given as 1830-31.
