Description:
Simson Suhl Over/Under shotgun in 20 gauge. Gorgeous deep engraved sideplated Blitz box lock action with cocking indicators. Built by Ernst Thalmann in Suhl who also built Merkels concurrently with Simsons. This is very similar to a Merkel 202E, built as a private label for the retailer F. Stampfli in Luzern (Lucerne) Switzerland. This is definitely a German oddity!
70cm ventilated rib barrels, roughly 27.5" with front and mid bead. Choked Skeet/Skeet. 2 3/4" chambers. Bores are excellent. Bluing and wood are very good but the wood shows a few drips from an ill-advised oiling. Lockup is tight and shows little wear. Ejectors are crisp. LOP is 14 5/8" to a Pachmayr White Line pad.
