RARE Antique COLT Model 1855 ARTILLERY CARBINE

Here we present an antique Colt Model 1855 Revolving Artillery Carbine, manufactured circa 1863 in Hartford, Connecticut. Only 4,435 were produced of all 1855 Carbines and only an estimated 100 of those were the Artillery Carbine variant. These were made for limited government contracts during the American Civil War. This design was a scaled-up version of the 1855 Root Revolver. This was the only variant equipped with a wooden fore stock.
The top of the frame is marked “COL. COLT HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” Serial number is 6187.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are regaining a light gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in great shape. The bore is dark and dusty with visible rifling. The action on this rifle is strong. Here is a rare opportunity to own Colt’s Model 1855 Revolving Artillery Carbine!
