ANTONIO GIL "LAGA" MODEL HAND-DETACHABLE SIDELOCK SHOTGUN. 12 gauge 27-1/2" barrels with tapered, matted concave rib, single brass bead, 2-3/4" chambers, choked: Left bbl: ..16 (Light Mod.) ~ Right bbl: .005 (Skeet) , articulated front trigger and ejectors. Top of right bbl is marked "GIL &CIA. FCA. DE ARMAS", and left bbl "EIBAR SPAIN". The sidelock receiver shows Holland & Holland style hand detachable locks with cocking indicators, is case hardened and engraved with foliate arabesque scroll and bouquets of flowers. Stocks are select highly figured grain walnut with dropper points, checkered straight grip and checkered splinter forend with engraved metal tip release. Drop at Comb 1-1/4". Drop at Heel 2". Cast off 1/8". LOP 14-5/8" over black Kick-eez pad. Weight 6 lbs, 8oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel retains 98-99% of its original blue with a few minor handling marks. Receiver has virtually all of its original case colors, starting to thin on the sharpest edges. Stock is solid with crisp checkering, a few minor handling marks and virtually all of its factory finisn. Forend is solid with crisp checkering and virtually all of its finish. Mechanics are crisp with strong ejectors and bright shiny bores.
