For sale, a World War 1 Colt 1911 manufactured in 1918. This Colt 1911 has been refinished and retains most of the original parts, but does contain some later WW2/commercial parts as well. The blued finish is a high polish gloss and has a consistent and attractive look to it. As you can see in the pictures, all of the original Colt markings are still clear and crisp on both the slide and frame. The bore is in great shape overall with nice strong rifling. The checkered Walnut grips are high-quality reproductions in excellent condition. All of the controls on this Colt 1911 work perfectly. The slide is nice and tight to the frame and is smooth when worked by hand. It is obvious that this 1911 was not shot very much at all prior to being refinished. The internals show very little wear, which leads us to believe that the refinish was likely done when these pistols were not so valuable and the owner was concerned with strictly the aesthetics of this 1911. This WW1 production pistol comes with one 8-round commercial magazine. If you have been looking for an interesting addition for your collection that has some historical value but could be enjoyed at the range, this Colt 1911 would be an excellent choice.
