A factory letter accompanies this extremely rare revolver confirming the 4" barrel and detailing its original shipment on April 22, 1957 to H.H. Harris Co. in Chicago, Illinois. H.H. Harris is one of a few very well known dealers at the time that was a prolific distributor in special order S&W revolvers, with all of the 4" Pre-27 examples having been ordered by and shipped to H.H. Harris, of which there are less than 15 known to exist. This awesome N-frame is a full special order with every option including a red-ramp front sight, white outline rear sight, target hammer and target trigger. The smooth rosewood grips were surely added by H.H. Harris, who kept a large stock of deluxe grips for his special order guns.
The gun retains over 99% of the original bright blue finish and is positively AS NEW in every way! This is the finest example of the rarest barrel length Pre Model 27 extant. A true collectors item that has no equal.
