Description:

Antique FRANK WESSON Single Shot 22 RIMFIRE Pistol

Tip-Up, 1 of 2,000 in Fine Condition

Here we present an antique Frank Wesson Small Frame Single Shot Pistol in .22 Rimfire, made circa 1880 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Only 2,000 are thought to have been made. Frank Wesson was the younger brother of Daniel B. Wesson, of Smith & Wesson, as well as Edwin Wesson, who was also a highly-esteemed gunsmith in the mid-to-late-1800s. The fame of his family’s name was not lost on Frank, but he was, in fact, a prolific firearms designer and maker in his own right.

The top of the barrel flat reads “FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS./PAT’D OCT 25 1859 & NOV 11 1862”.

The overall condition is fine. The nickel finish is 90%. Traces of the blue finish remain on the barrel with a gray patina making up the balance. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are in great shape. The bore is clear and bright with good rifling. The action on this pistol is excellent.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 6 inches.

Caliber: .22 Rimfire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
