Description:
Hammerless Sidelocks - They say if you wait long enough everything will repeat itself. Well to repeat oneself it has to happen a first time. Finding this gun I experienced my first time for finding a gun in its original maker’s case with its original sales invoice with it! Dating it by the invoice this fine sidelock was sold November 1st 1935. Also found in the case was a second invoice from November 26th 1946 for 200 “guaranteed accuracy� 12 bore cartridges. Judging from the condition of the shotgun I have to wonder if the 200 shells were ever used!
Opening this case is a time warp as one see’s the gun has been left relatively undisturbed in its 83 year rest retaining 80% or better of its case color, blue, and wood finish. At 6 lbs. 2 oz. the engraved crossed feathers on the action are no lie that this fine shotgun is a “feather weight.�
