This 12 gauge Remington Model 11-87 Special Purpose has been fully loaded out and customized for self defense/combat and 3-gun competition. All of the add-ons and custom work is top quality and the gun is in excellent condition overall. It is designed for putting lots of shot accurately down-range in the shortest possible time and making reloading as easy and fast as possible. It features a 21" inch barrel with screw-in chokes that has been ported with 22 ports, 11 on each side of the vent rib at the muzzle end. These ports should significantly reduce felt recoil to the shooter and at the same time reduce muzzle rise when firing multiple shots in succession. A 4-shot magazine extension has been added, giving this 11-87 a capacity of 8 shotshells plus 1 in the chamber. Also added to this Remington is a combat-style bolt handle for easy manipulation of the action, a "Easy-loader" lever which speeds up reloading by lining up the shells to slide into the tube and making the action release effortless, Hi-Viz bead sight system that speeds up target acquisition, a serrated trigger-shoe, and a 6-round "side saddle" which provides easy and fast access to another 6 shotshells onboard the shotgun itself. If this 11-87 is fully loaded, between the side saddle and extended magazine tube a person could pick this shotgun up and have 15 shotshells on hand without carrying anything additional. In a home or auto self defense situation that large on-board capacity could be life saving. As you can see in the pictures provided with this listing, the finish on this Remington is in excellent condition. The matte black parkerized-like factory finish is designed for being durable and weather resistant. The original factory synthetic stock set is also in excellent condition. Both the forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The buttstock is fitted from the factory with a lower sling swivel stud as well as a Remington-branded recoil pad. The length of pull is 14" inches to the end of the pad. Everything on this shotgun works 100% like it was designed to. The action on this 11-87 is smooth when worked by hand but precise without any slop. When the bolt is released from the open position it goes into battery perfectly with a lot of force. All of the controls work perfectly. If you have been looking for a top-quality and serious 3-gun competition shotgun that would also be a superb home/self defense shotgun, this custom Remington Special Purpose 12 gauge would be an excellent choice.
