The Winchester M1 Carbine I have is no exception. At serial number 6571190 this Carbine was produced between 12/'44 and 6/'45. This rifle shows very little evidence of use or wear. I have identified all of the parts which are correct for the serial number, type, and date associated with this Carbine, making it highly collectible and valued. Winchester produced the second most M1 Carbines during WWII. This rifle is a particularly fine example of being close to how they left the factory. I have authenticated the correctness of the following parts as per the book "Comprehensive Guide M1 Carbine" by R. C. Larson. I and many consider this book a "must have" if you are a M1 Carbine collector, buyer, or interested novice. Here is a list of the parts that are stamped and identified as USGI Winchester M1 Carbine factory installed : Barrel W with all proof stamps and Flaming Bomb, Barrel Band C, Bolt W, Extractor W, Firing Pin W, Hammer W, Magazines BW & SW, Magazine Catch W, Magazine Release M, Oiler IS, Operating Slide W, Rear Sight H inside shield, Receiver Winchester 6571190, Recoil Plate W, Safety EW, Sear W, Stock W, Trigger W, Trigger Housing W. Here is the list of parts that are not stamped but are correct for this rifle as identified by pictures and information in book "Comprehensive Guide M1 Carbine : Butt Plate, Front Sight, Hand Guard, Slide Spring Guide, Sling, and various screws and pins. Again, these unstamped parts are CORRECT for this rifle. The stock has the Cross Cannon cartouche stamped on the right rear. There are a couple of noticable marks on the stock, but it and the hand guard match closely and have no cracks. The bore of the barrel is shiny and has clearly visible riflings. Comes with correct oiler and sling, three (3) 15 round Winchester Magazines, reproduction manual, and zippered canvass case. I will post 15 pictures, but I have many more I can email plus detailed parts information ( type #'s and versions ) to anyone seriously interested in purchasing this collector level M1 Carbine.
