Description:
Made in 1966 The "Pointer" grade guns are always in demand. This beautiful example built for the 12 bore 3" magnum is quite unusual, it is estimated that fewer than 20 were produced! It has 30" barrels choked full and modified which are fitted with raised ventilated rib. St. Louis and Montreal addresses and "MADE IN BELGIUM" are on left side of top barrel. Right side is marked with patent numbers, and "SPECIAL STEEL - 12 GA - CHAMBERED FOR 3" MAGNUM".  The coin finished Superposed action with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in usual "Pointer" style with a field of small scroll within geometric borders surrounding oval scenes of pointers and birds; pointer retrieving a duck on left side of action, with another pointer retrieving a pheasant on right. Bottom depicts a pair of quail, and a cock pheasant takes flight over a recumbent hen on trigger guard bow. Engravers signature, "F. Marechal" is under each dog scene. Long tang, round knob buttstock of flame grained American walnut measures 14 - 1/4" over original Browning white line pad. Drops are 1-7/16 DAC and 2-1/4" DAH.  Weight is 8lbs 7oz.  Full forend of fiddle figured walnut matches well. Chokes measure .041 (Full) and .023 (Mod). as marked.  Weight is 8lbs 7oz. Housed in a tan Hartman case is lined in faux fur, and contains small Browning catalog and key attached to Naugahyde tag. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining nearly all factory finishes on all wood and metal surfaces with only a few very light handling and assembly marks. Checkering is excellent and shows only minute wear worn. Bores are excellent, brilliant and shiny. Mechanically fine. Case is excellent with only slight soiling. An attractive and very rare big Browning.  Imagine taking this gun out on your next duck hunt!
