Description:
VERY EARLY .32-20 CALIBER POLICE POSITIVE SPECIAL WITH 4” BARREL, MADE 1913. One of the earliest examples in .32-20 I’ve seen as the model was introduced in 1908 with .38 Special the standard chambering. This one also has the very early “stylized C” with rampant colt stamping on the frame which was only used until 1913. After this date only the horse was stamped. All correct markings including the early patent dates ending in 1905. Overall fine blue with wear mainly to a slight amount at the muzzle on each side of the barrel, on the grip straps, and normal edge wear. This revolver also sports Gen-U-Wine imitation pearl grips with a small chip out of the right rear corner. Fortunately, replacement grips are easy to find and good reproductions are also available for minimal cost. Retains very tight action, light trigger pull and bright bore, unaltered front sight. Truly amazing hand-fitted early 20th Century craftsmanship! These made great little companion pieces to rifles chambered in .32-20. It would be hard to find a better lightweight trail gun- 105 years ago when this revolver was new, or now.
