Antique Colt 1849 Wells Fargo Model with 3" octagon barrel and no ramrod, caliber .31 (note erroneouly stated as .36 caliber in title), serial # 48355, manufactured 1852. All numbers on the grip, trigger guard, frame, barrel and cylinder match. Wedge is not numbered. Overall very good with clear cylinder scene and 2-line barrel address. Backstrap and trigger guard retain approximately 90% of their original silver plating. Original walnut grips are in excellent condition with little wear and minimal dings/usage marks. Good, strong action that indexes nicely every time. Traces of original case colors on frame, otherwise has turned patina. Barrel likewise has good original aged blue that has darkened with age. Bore is very good. Frame and cylinder have areas of pinprick pitting by no rust. A solid, collectible antique Colt 1849 in the Wells Fargo model that would be a great addition to any Colt / Pre-Civil War collection.
