BELGIAN Antique MARTIN & CIE 8mm Revolver
Late-19th Century Carry Revolver
Here we present an antique Martin & Cie Revolver in 8mm, made circa the 1890s in Liege, Belgium. Liege has long been an arms making center of the world. This one would have been made for carry in a smaller belt holster for self-defense at the turn of the century in Europe. This one has a hinge on top of the frame, just forward of the hammer, and a plunger type locking system at the bottom front of the frame. The trigger does not have a guard but instead folds for stowage. Belgian proof marks are found throughout. “F. MARTIN & CIE” is found on the left side of the barrel; “ACIER FONDU” on the right.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have a dark patina. The markings are clear. The grips are in great shape. The bore is in good condition. The action is strong. Here is a neat example of a European revolver!
