I am the original owner of this rifle. I custom ordered it from Dakota Arms back when the company was owned by Don Allen. I live a couple of hours from the Dakota factory and I remember traveling to the factory where I was given a personal tour and allowed to hand-select the XXX walnut blank for the stock. The pictures do not do the beauty of the stock justice. The workmanship on this rifle is exceedingly fine. This gun has a custom serial number that includes the cartridge it was made for: 280AI. I have not fired this rifle. I take it out of the safe once in awhile just to look at it.
XXX grade walnut, cheekpiece with shadow-line, hand-cut point wrap checkering on fore-end, ebony fore-end tip, hand-inletted Ken Howell swivel studs, jeweled bolt, Talley rings and bases made for Dakota, etc. Available with or without the Leupold scope.
If we’re lucky, maybe we get to own a beautiful custom-made rifle such as this one in our lifetime.
