Circa 1898 Antique FLOBERT “SALOON” Pistol
.22 Flobert Rimfire for Use Indoors!
Here we present an antique German Flobert “Saloon” Pistol in .22 Flobert Rimfire, made circa 1898. This was made for shooting games indoors at the turn of the 20th Century. It utilized .22 Rimfire cartridges that lacked any powder charge and simply used the small explosion from the primer to propel the projectile. These games were popular in saloon, at carnivals, and even in people’s homes during this period.
The right side of the frame is marked with various German proof marks.
The overall condition is excellent. The original nickel is nearly completely intact. Original blue remains on the back of the hammer. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut grips are in great shape. The bore is clear and bright. The action on this pistol is excellent.
