Description:
44 WCF with rare special order 26 inch round barrel and full mag tube. Sights include a sporting rear sight and a blade front sight. Good bore with some roughness and oxidation but strong rifling. Fine functioning action. The barrel, forend cap and magazine tube are mostly a plum/brown patina with original blue in the protected areas between the barrel and mag tube. Frame is plum colored with good traces of blue around the side plates and protected areas. Hammer and lever have traces of case color. The plain walnut stocks are very good plus condition with a couple tiny chips on top of forend and usual light dings and handling mars. A very good early third model 1873 Winchester rifle.
