Uberti Open Top Early Model 1851 Navy (Navy Grip) Revolver With Round 8" Barrel And Brass Back Strap And Trigger Guard In 45 Long Colt. Center fire.
The 1851 Open Top model was Colt's first revolver specifically manufactured to fire a centerfire cartridge by incorporating the loading gate in the frame. Since Colt did not use percussion revolver parts, the revolver was manufactured as an entirely new model, first with Navy-sized grips, later with Army-sized grips. All Open Top revolvers come with a case-hardened forged steel frame, round barrel with front blade sight, modern ejector rod, and a rear sight notch on the rear of the barrel. The Navy version includes a brass backstrap and triggerguard with a smaller Navy grip. Cylinder engraved by W.L. Ormsby New York.
