Browning Superposed 20 gauge O/U shotgun. Circa 1963 this gun was beautifully embellished and stocked to duplicate a D5 engraving and checkering pattern. All of the work was done in Belgium and done to a masterful degree of engraving and stock work.
The gun has 28” barrels, chokes marked IC/M and topped with a hand filed vent rib. The mirror bright bores have .611” diameters with chokes measuring .006” & .017” confirming the IC/M. Mechanically excellent. Single selective D5 blued trigger and non-automatic safety.
The round knob long tang pistol grip and three piece Schnabel forearm are crafted from and magnificent piece of highly figured walnut. Finely checkered with a ribbon border. 14 1/8” LOP over the Browning factory butt plate; 1 ½” DAC & 2 3/16” DAH with slight right hand cast.
Weighing 6 lbs. 6 oz. this D5 balances beautifully between the hands.
