Description:
Browning P4W all gauge skeet set. One of only 11 P4W sets ever made. This gun has 28” skeet choked barrels of 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge and .410 bore and remains in unfired condition. The P4W is the highest grade of the “P” series guns that were made during Presentation Era of 1977-1984; this gun being made in 1979. The P4W’s were all completely hand engraved and Jules Lewanczvk did the artwork on this gun. Most of the P3’s and lower grades were machine engraved with the gold inlays done by hand!
In addition to side plates of the P4’s the “W” suffix indicated the beautiful gold inlays. The coverage is 100% scroll and game scene that in typical Browning Superposed tradition was magnificently executed. Gold ducks on the right side, gold pheasants on the left, a flying quail on the bottom and the gold bust of a dog on the long tang trigger guard.
Gorgeous walnut pistol grip stock and beavertail forearm with finely cut checkering. The stock has a 14 3/8” LOP over the factory 1” pad, 1 ½” DAC and 1 5/8” DAH with a slight right hand cast. Cased in a Browning luggage case. Weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz. with any gauge barrel in place.
