Fantastic Pre War/Transition style Winchester Model 70 in exceedingly scarce 22 Hornet caliber! S/N 56*** Mfg. 1946. The scribed # on bolt matches receiver. 24" Barrel with excellent bore. This rifle is near spotless inside and out, and had never been dissassembled prior to my inspection/photos. I have personally verified that the chamber has not been reamed to K hornet or any other caliber, and all internal and external components are 100% correct. Condition is superb for a rifle of this vintage showing 98%+ Blue and very close to same on Varnish, although there are a few scattered light handling marks, perhaps a strong 97%.
About as good as they come, especially in this rare caliber and configuration!
