This factory AAA grade Maple-stocked Cooper Arms Model 52M Classic is absolutely beautiful and has a ton of really neat special order features. It was bought new in 2014 and immediately put into storage where it has remained for the last 4 years, never once carried or fired. The Cooper Arms Model 52M (M=magnum) is one of the finest American-made rifles that money can buy without going to a full-on custom rifle. Cooper does a superb job on fit and finish and their rifles are built with the finest materials available. The Model 52 action is silky smooth, strong, and precise, and Cooper guarantees these rifles to shoot 1/2 MOA or better at 100 yards. This particular Cooper Model 52 Classic is finished in a matte blue on all the metal parts, a special order 24" inch fluted barrel, a special order spiral fluted bolt, a special order steel trigger guard (standard is alloy), special order checkered bolt knob, an adjustable single-stage trigger, and a spectacular special order AAA grade Maple stock. The Maple stock has beautiful vertical "tiger stripes" along the length of the stock that appear 3-D, like they are floating over top of the wood. The stock has factory installed sling swivel studs, a matte blued steel pistol grip cap, and a Pachmayer recoil pad. The length of pull to the end of the factory recoil pad is 13.75" inches. The rifle comes with one factory detachable box magazine that holds 3-rounds of the .280 Ackley Improved or .280 Remington. As mentioned before, this rifle is in mint like-new condition and has never been handled or fired since being test fired at Cooper. The matte blue factory finish is perfect with no thinning/wear, scratches, dings, or imperfections. The factory deluxe AAA grade Maple stock is also in perfect condition. It is free from wear, cracks, dings, or any other kind of defects. The action on this rifle really has to be felt to be truly appreciated. The bolt moves in the receiver effortlessly and locks into battery with precision. All of the rifle's controls work 100% like the day it left the factory. The trigger on this Cooper is second to none; it breaks like a thin glass rod with very little pressure and no grit or over travel on the factory settings. This rifle was also factory fitted with Warne bases which have never had rings on them and are in perfect condition. The .280 Ackley Improved chambering is truly a great cartridge. There are several commercial loadings available including a 140 grain load from Nosler that gets 3150 feet per second and delivers 3084 foot pounds of energy, more than enough for any big game in North America. The .280 A.I. is superb at long distance as well with excellent flight characteristics. This .280 A.I. chambering also allows you to shoot .280 Remington thru it, while fire-forming the cases to the Ackley Improved dimensions for hand loading. As you can see in the pictures of the factory test target, Cooper came up with an excellent hand load for it and provided the relevant load data on the target. The rifle comes with the original box with the factory serial numbered end-label intact, the owner's manual/paperwork/test target, and the original foam box inserts. If you have been looking for a top-of-the-line new rifle for your collection that will really stand out from the others and is chambered in a caliber that not everyone else has, this Maple stocked Cooper Model 52 in .280 A.I. would be an excellent choice. You could carry this classy and unique rifle into any hunting camp or lodge in the U.S. or elsewhere and be very proud of it. If you were to order this rifle today with all of these features it would cost you $3650, priced at $2895 this minty and unfired Cooper is a great buy!
