Nice example of an Antique Gallagher Saddle Ring Carbine. .50 Caliber. Manufactured 1860-65 by the Richardson & Overman Co., during the civil war. Has iron patch box in buttstock. Overall finish on barrel is a grey brown patina. Reciever retains quite a bit of original case coloring remaining. Lockplate marked: "MANUFACTD BY/RICHARDSON & OVERMAN/PHILADA/13006/ GALLAGER'S PATENT/JULY 17TH 1860". Action is strong and locks up tight. Has a walnut buttsock that is solid and in very good condition. Has a 22 1/4" barrel with a very good bore. Buyer pays $35.00 shipping to lower 48 states.
