SPECS:

Receiver:  Oct 1943 - March 1944. Marked “U.S. CARBINE CAL. 30 M1”, “QUALITY H.M.C.” Spring tube receiver, excellent condition, no pitting.

Spring tube: marked “Q” on end

Barrel:  Inland 1-44, short skirt, with firing proof “P”. Exterior is in very good condition, no pitting. Bore is bright and shiny. The barrel has been counterbored about 1/4 “, see photo. The carbine was probably in a rebuild lot where all were counterbored, rather than because of any damage to this one, since the overall condition of the barrel and receiver are excellent. It is almost impossible for a counterbored crown to be damaged.

Front sight: marked “.U.”

Rear sight: flip, marked “IN B”, “S”

Bolt: round, marked “AOB”, hand engraved with this receiver’s serial number

Firing pin: marked “IN”

Extractor: late type flat lip, marked “W.I.”

Barrel band: late bayonet lug type, marked “AI”

Trigger housing: forged type, marked “SG”

Safety: flip, marked “P”

Operating slide: marked “AOB” very lightly inside

Hammer: straight, marked “HI”

Trigger: unmarked, looks GI

Sear: marked “R-I”

Magazine catch: 15-round, marked “SI”

Stock: walnut, I-cut, appears to be cut-down former high wood. No cracks or repairs, about average dings/scratches, very nice appearance. Sling well marking is RMC, but someone drilled a hole in the “R”, probably for some odd sling arrangement. Marked “54” both stamped and in paint on the pistol grip, and stamped up front by bayonet lug. Also has uncircled “P” on pistol grip.

Handguard: walnut, two rivets, marked “RMC”. Same condition and appearance as stock

Buttplate: unmarked, square checking pattern

Magazine: 15-round, marked “UQ”

Sling and oiler: new repro
