BOHEMIAN Antique DOUBLE BARREL Pistol by WIESNER
19th Century .48 Caliber Belt Pistol
Here we present an antique Wiesner Double Barrel Percussion Pistol, made circa 1850 in Matzdorf, a town in Bohemia that has variously been located in modern Germany or Poland. This pistol would have been a very handsome, nicely sized pistol worn on the belt for personal protection in the mid-19th Century. The top of the barrel is marked “WIESNER IN MATZDORF”. The locks, hammers, trigger guard, barrel tang and breech are neatly engraved with floral scrolls. The stock is gracefully shaped and carved with a border around the checkering. Front sight is a centrally located bead obviously meant for close work. This is a very classy pistol from the 19th Century!
The overall condition is near fine. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in great shape. The bores are smooth and clear. The action on this pistol is excellent, strong and crisp. Own this little work of art!
