Description:
I have a benchmark grade Ithaca NID 16 gauge for sale made in 1936. This gun is all original in all respects. It has 28" barrels with factory chokes 2 & 4 indicating Mod & Full. Choke constrictions check out at .014" and .029". Bores are both .667" diameter. Factory 2 3/4" chambers mean no messing with short expensive shells. Weight is 6lbs 8oz on a digital scale. Stock dimensions are 1 7/16" by 2 11/16" by 14" LOP to the Ithaca hard butt plate. Bores are perfect. This NID has an automatic safety. No stock cracks and only minor handling marks as you'd expect on a 80 + year old gun that's been in storage. The breech face shows original case hardening where the shell bases would rub in the gun had been fired much at all.The only marks showing are from the extractor and the barrels where they fit tightly against the standing breech. The gun has a automatic safety. This is a Field Grade gun and it has the better wood, excellent fit, and fancy black forend tip characteristic of the mid 30's Ithaca NID's. This is a collection quality and I would argue Benchmark quality NID that you will search years for to find. You just don't find the field grade guns in this kind of shape.
