Description:
The rifle I have for sale here is the Mark 1 receiver version of the late WWI and early WWII bolt action chambered in .30-06 Remington caliber.  The Mark I receiver has an oval hole manufactured into the left rear of the receiver that was to accomadate the fitment and use of what was called  the "Pederson Device".
The "Pederson Device" and it's components transformed the .30-06 Remington Caliber bolt action rifle into a semi-automatic .30 Caliber (Special Cartridge) rifle in just minutes without tools while in the battle field.
With the implemetation of the M1 Garand the 1903 and "Pederson Device" went by the wayside.
My Springfield 1903 Mark I only retains the receiver, trigger, and butt plate from the Mark I configuration.  All other parts are Remingtion stamped 1903 correct USGI parts.  The barrel is a Four Lan Springfield Armory replacement dated 8-'44 with the Flaming Bomb stamp and P proof mark stamped in.  Being in Arizona the past 64 years the barrel looks practically new internally.  Muzzle crown has original radius and clean.  The remainder of the parts appear and function flawlessly.  The bolt fits tight and racks rounds smoothly.
The stock is not a Mark I original, but is a period correct 1903 two reinforcement screw semi-pistol grip type 12 or 15.  It is armorer stamped with a P inside a square on the semi-pistol grip base and LSA inside a rectangle on the right cheek of the stock.
I am not representing this rifle as a collector grade, but as a shooting grade rifle in very good condition.  Comes with USGI correct sight cover and leather and brass Boyt sling.  Pictures don't represent the actual condition of all the parts, but of all my WWI and WWII rifles this one grades in the top three as far as condition.
Transaction must comply with all state and federal firearms sales and shipping regulations.  Must be shipped to valid FFL or C&R cerificate holder.  Buyer pays $45 shipping charge.  Accepted payment is USPS Money Order or Certified Check.  Although fully functional this rifle carries no implied or expressed warranty.
