Description:
***   NEW PRICE   ***   In business since 1790 in Ferlach, Austria the Fanzoj family has been involved in the manufacturing of very high quality handmade guns and rifles for over 220 years. Only a small number of guns is made each year. This precision made highly engraved sideplated boxlock is a great example of the quality of the work produced by Fanzoi.   ***   Beautifully engraved with a highly figured hand oil finished walnut stock and splinter forearm this16 gauge is a joy to behold and perfectly balanced in the hands. Weighing 5lb 15oz it is also easy to carry during a long upland hunt.   ***   The frame has double triggers, sideclips and an internal crossbolt to secure the action. The left side of the frame is decorated with a beautifully executed engraving of a hunting dog and pheasants. The frame bottom depicts a running hare and the right side of the frame is adorned with a fox and partridges. The trigger guard is also engraved with a gamebird and floral pattern.   ***   The 72cm(28-3/8”) barrels, made of Bohler-Blitz Stahl, have a top extension, auto ejectors, are engraved at the breech end, and are topped by a hand cross hatched rib. Chambered for 65mm(2-1/2”) cartridges they are choked Modified and Full.   ***   The highly figured walnut stock has a swept back pistol grip with a horn grip cap. The splinter forearm has an Anson-style release button. Stock dimensions are 14” to a thin factory buttplate by 1-1/2” by 2-7/16”. Neutral cast.   ***   Overall the stock, metal and mechanics are in excellent plus condition. There is a small discoloration on the bottom rib as shown in the last photo below. High quality like this is talked about a lot but not produced very often. A great gun for game or clays, you will be proud to own such a fine example of the gunmakers art.  ***   I am an FFL and will need a signed copy of your dealer’s FFL. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense if the gun is not as described in the listing. ***  Come and see this great double and other fine firearms at the MacNab booth at the SOUTHERN SIDE-BY-SIDE April 25 - 28, 2019 at Deep River Sporting Clays in Sanford, North Carolina.   ***   We are pleased to announce that noted British firearms author DONALD DALLAS will be at our booth the same weekend autographing and selling his books and answering your questions about British double guns.
