Description:
Desirable and sought after by collectors and hunters alike; these very handy compact little Carbines were lst produced in 1964 and discontinued in 1967. Superceeded by the 660's. The 600's wer unique and distinguished by the vent rib. Over the years many of the ribs have been damaged or warped however this one is excellent and about as it left the factory. According to barrel date code this guns was made in Oct 64 and as such is a first year production model. Chambered is very capable and readily available .308. It comes with a period correct (what appears to be a Weaver K4 however the scope markings are not visible), scope has a simple cross hair reticle. Scope as a little crud on the outside (small spots) however it is period correct to the gun and seems to be clear and bright and functions fine. We are not attributing value to the scope, it is included and can be hunted exactly as it is and would make a fine hunting gun and scope.  The overall condition of the rifle is excellent for its age, blue not far from perfect, bolt is a little tarnished but could easily be polished.  The stock retains most of its original finish, has not been fiddled with or modified in any way however surfact and finish on the underside of the forend just back of the swivel is a little rough, perhaps held in a rack or a shooting vice on the bench but stock otherwise is in  good  shape with only minor handling wear or loss of finish. No cracks no repairs and no non factory holes. Rear site removed for scope clearance (these are available on ebay and other sources should anyone want the open sites. Front site is correct.
It will only get harder and harder to find one of these available over time.
