Description:
Up for sale today is a US Springfield 2nd Allin Conversion, no serial number, chambered in caliber .50-70 Government. Allin Conversion rifles were built on existing stocks of US Springfield rifles after the War of Northern Aggression. This rifle is in excellent original condition, with excellent finish on metal and wood parts. The bore is very good, and the lockplate shows an 1864 date. The conversion’s breech block shows an 1866 proof. A great addition to any shooters collection.
This rifle is considered an Antique by the BATFE and thus can be shipped directly to the buyer, given that such a transaction is legal under the local laws of the buyer’s home county and state.
