Inv. 6988 Savage Mdl. 99 Mfg.1954, Cal. .300 Savage, Ser. 721721. A wonderful opportunity for the guy who wants a great value and doesn't mind a slightly less than pristine gun.
However, it is a great example of an iconic American hunting rifle. The only loss that and it is slight, is on the receiver, the bolt and the case colored lever. The receiver has some surface stains and small patches of pin pricks, the bolt also has some scattered pin pricks, the lever small patches of surface pits. The hand checkered wood stock and forearm are pristine. Not a chip, ding or split anywhere. Not even a flattened point. The butt plate is in super condition with just a few scattered pin pricks. The barrel has retained about 99% of the original blue. The bolt face, rails and feed ramp show little if any use. The bore is pristine. The rifling is razor sharp and sunshine bright. The gun has the appearance of being carried more than fired.. It would be an great addition to any hunt, or at your local range.
