BRACE of BRITISH Antique FLINTLOCK .44 Cal Pistols
Made by North and Winton
Here we present a Brace of Antique North Winton Flintlock Pistols, made England circa the early-19th Century. These pistols are small, light and simple. They would have been concealable in a pocket or a fur muff and been used for self defense on the streets of London. Bores are a large .44 caliber. The maker likely had the surname “North” and was in Winton in Southern England.
On both of these pistols, the left side of the frame is marked “NORTH” and the right side is marked “WINTON”.
The overall condition of both is good. The metal surfaces have a light gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are in good shape. The bores are clear and smooth. The action on these pistols are both strong.
