In 1944, Danish exile authorities ordered 2,000 M40 Lahti pistols to arm troops being trained for the Resistance. These pistols were delivered and marked by inspection officer Capatin Sten Stenmo (S.S. at rear of pistol). These pistols' serial numbers range from 67,000 to 69,202, but there are also some scattered in the 64,000 to 74,000 range. This M40 Lahti is serial number 68,663 and is one of those sought-after "Exile" pistols. After World War 2 ended it was put into service with the Danish Police and was marked "Rplt. S 418" on the right side of the frame. This pistol has certainly lived an eventful life until this point. It is 100% original and all-matching in excellent condition, and comes with a complete original holster rig with 2 extra magazines, the cleaning rod, screwdriver tool, and dual chamber oiler. The finish on this M40 rates 95% with some very minor high edge wear and a few small spots of thinning finish. As you can see in the pictures, this is one good looking Lahti. The bore in this M40 is exceptional. It is bright with strong rifling and has zero visible imperfections. The checkered brown plastic grips are in excellent condition as well and free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. All of the controls work 100% like the day this pistol left the factory in 1944. The original holster is in great shape overall, and while it has certainly been used and shows some wear the stitching and hardware is all intact and tight. The extra mags and tools are all in excellent shape. If you have been looking for an exceptional all-original Husqvarna M40 Lahti that has a lot of history behind it, you would be hard-pressed to find a better example than this one!
