Description:
This Richardson & Overman Model Gallager is a .50 Cal. single shot rifle. It is a civil war carbine that saw extensive service as a calvary arm with the Union Troops. It has a 22 1/4 inch rifled barrel and a smooth grip walnut straight stock. Has a percussion cap ignition. No extraction system. It is loaded by pulling down on the lever and the barrel moving forward and pivoting down. Actually in pretty good condition for it's age it shows some light wear and handling. The barrel has patina and minor handling marks.
