Description: This is probably the most rare Ruger 10/22 ever made.  Gun was purchased in 1968 and used to dispatch a fox in the henhouse then put in the closet where it has remained until recently.  These are very rare, only made for a couple of years (this one made in 1968).  According to the book RUGER AND HIS GUNS there were less than 500 of these made, and that is out of millions of 10/22 rifles.  Gun has a finger groove forend  monte carlo walnut stock, with factory hand checkering.  My 2016 STANDARD CATALOG OF FIREARMS lists it as a 10/22 Sporter Finger Groove Old Model and  in excellent original condition shows it at $575 with the notation to ADD 300% with hand checkering - thats an additional $1725 totaling $2300.  No doubt the 2018 catalog would be more.  Definitely for an advanced Ruger collector.  Gun is almost like new with some very minor tiny handling mark dents on the left side of the stock (see photos) - otherwise MINT.
