Description:
This original .58 caliber Enfield - 1862 Tower - 3-Band musket has a tapered round 1-1/16" to 13/16" x 39" barrel that was left “in the white”, with a 1:78 twist and fitted with an adjustable ladder rear sight. The bore is very good with deep rifling and scattered light roughness. There are two number 25 proof stamps, a black powder proof stamp and a barrel proof stamp on the left side of the barrel. The P grade European Walnut stock is mounted a mix of brass and steel furniture. The stock is sound, without cracks, with scattered usage dents and dings. The large military style percussion lock has 1862 Tower and the British Crown stamped on the plate. Complete with sling swivels, metal ramrod and chained nipple protector. Please note: The sling is an after-market addition. Length of pull is 14", overall length is 55”, weight is 8.8 lbs. Factory wood to metal fit - made by Enfield - Birmingham, England.
