S&W .38 Hammerless “LEMON SQUEEZER” Revolver
5-Shot Smith & Wesson Top Break Revolver
Here we present a Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action Hammerless Revolver, 3rd Model, made circa 1895 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This revolver was made to be a simple, compact and reliable firearm that one could carry in a pocket or a holster around the turn of the 20th Century. This revolver features an internal hammer design to remove risk of snagging or stopping the action. The double action only function removes the temptation to cock the hammer into single action. There is a grip safety built into the back of the grip frame. The frame is a top-break design that activates the automatic ejector. These are very nice features from the turn of the 20th Century!
The top of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS.U.S.A.PAT’D MAY 11.80/ OCT.2.83 AUG.4.85. OCT.11.87. FEB.14.88. APR.9.89. JUN.3.90”.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have been refinished and are 95%. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The hard rubber grips are in great shape, smoothed out with honest wear. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The action on this revolver is excellent.
