Gorgeous Pearl Gripped “Lemon Squeezer”
Here we present a Smith & Wesson .32 S&W Safety Hammerless Revolver, made circa 1907 in Springfield, Massachusetts. These were also known as the “New Departure” or the “Lemon Squeezer”, the latter due to the safety bar in the backstrap. This little revolver holds 5 shots of .32 S&W. It was designed to meet the defensive needs of citizens and law enforcement in the late 19th Century. This is a top break design with an automatic ejector, hammerless design and grip safety. These features made it great for pocket carry.
The top of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS U.S.A. PAT’D FEBY/20.77.DEC.18.77.MAY.11.80.SEPT.11.88.OCT.2.83.TWO AUG.4.85”. The left side of the barrel is marked “.32 S&W CTG”.
The overall condition is fine. The nickel finish is 95% intact. Case colors are still visible. The markings are clear and legible. Numbers match. The pearl grips are in great shape. The bore is in good shape with strong rifling. The action on this revolver is excellent.
