Made between 1975 and 1977 this gun with 30" Barrels with Broadway ventilated rib are marked for I.mod and full chokes. Left side of top barrel is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL BELGIQUE". Right side is marked "12 GA - SHELLS 2 3/4" - MADE IN BELGIUM BROWNING PATENT". The gun has 30" barrels and weights 8lbs 8oz. Gray finished action with nicely filed fences and beads is fitted with checkered single selective trigger. This gun was one of 25 (C) Serial numbered Exhibition guns made for the European market by FN - of the total 275 C Series Exhibition grade guns made, only a tiny fraction (less than 10%) stayed in Europe making this an even more rare gun! It features a unique and one of a kind engraving pattern that is extremely stunning and collectible. Action is engraved, signed by Marechal near trigger guard, and by R. Capece on left side, with near full coverage very nicely cut large open shaded acanthus scroll with floral terminations and highlights. This fine scroll surrounds ovate relief gold inlaid scenes of dogs retrieving game; on left side a retriever is presenting a duck, background is of gold rice stalks. On right a spaniel is retrieving a cock pheasant from cornfield with stalks and ears also in gold. This treatment appears to be specially ordered with subjects taken from supplied photographs. Bottom of action is also covered in scroll which extends to trigger guard which has vacant oval at center of bow. Long trigger guard tang with locking screws as was occassionally done on the Exhibition Grade Guns. Lightly marbled and finely figured Claro walnut long tang square knob buttstock measures 14 - 1/4" over open sided brown Browning white line trap pad. The gun has drops of 1-7/16 DAC and 1-9/16 DAH. The point pattern checkering wraps around top of grip. Beavertail type trap forend matches well. Chokes are Imp/Mod and Full. The gun is accompanied by a tan Airways case is lined in faux fur, and contains instruction book and key. The overall condition is truly superb and the gun appears essentially unfired, with only a few minute handling and assembly marks in wood and metal surfaces. Mechanically perfect. Case is excellent. This gun is priced at $SOLD plus shipping to your FFL. The gun is truly a work of art and must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions.
