This has the mortised silver front sight with a very nice inspector cartouche on the left grip. It retains over 65% original blue finish. The mechanical function is very good. The bore is very good, bright and shiny with strong rifling and only a small amount of fine corrosion. The right grip has a repaired crack. The New Model Army began with serial number 15,xxx and a total of 122,000 were made. This one was made in 1863 and this was a critical time for both Armies’.
