Anschutz .22 rifles are known the world over for being some of the very best factory-produced rifles made at any price. Anschutz has been around since 1856 and over the last 162 years has built and maintained a reputation for building top quality firearms from the finest materials by master gunsmiths. A proper comparison would be they are to rimfire rifles what Rolex is to watches. They are one of a very few companies that can build a .22 caliber rifle that is lightweight and still be superbly accurate like a match/purpose target gun. This example is a left-handed Model 1415-1416 .22 caliber bolt-action repeater with a 5-shot magazine. It has a 22.5" inch barrel with factory iron sights and the receiver is matted and grooved for optics. The front sight is a ramped bead with a hood, and the rear sight is a flip-up style blade that can be adjusted for elevation or drifted for windage. The safety is mounted to the right rear of the receiver and the original factory trigger is an excellent target-style adjustable model. This factory-built left-handed Model 1415-1416 .22 rifle appears to have been fired very little but has been carelessly stored. The factory original blue finish rates 93 to 95% but the original Walnut stock shows numerous dings, dents, and scratches. On the bright side, all of these marks are cosmetic only and the stock is free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage. Some of the dents could be steamed out and some of the scratches could be hidden with the proper finish if the new owner so chooses. The factory checkering still has plenty of grip left and does a good deal to enhance the appearance of this rifle. The stock is factory fitted with sling swivel studs as well as a checkered black plastic factory buttplate. The length of pull to the end of the buttplate is 14" inches. The all-important bore in this Anschutz is in excellent shape. The rifling is still prominent with sharp lands and grooves and there is no pitting, bulges, or visible imperfections of any kind. All of the controls on this rifle work perfectly and the action works smoothly with precision, 100% like the day it left the factory. The adjustable trigger mentioned earlier in this rifle is SUPERB, it breaks like a glass rod with a light pull and no grittiness or slop at it's current settings. If you are a lefty and have been looking for the perfect small game hunting or plinking rifle that is capable of outshooting just about anything else out there in it's class, this Anschutz Model 1415-1416 would be the perfect choice!
