Antique S&W Single Action “BABY RUSSIAN” Revolver
Small Revolver in .38 S&W
Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson .38 Single Action “Baby Russian” Revolver in .38 S&W, made circa 1876. It is known as the Baby Russian due to its resemblance to the .44 Russian Revolver. It would have made a good little self-defense revolver in the late-19th Century.
The top of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. PAT’D”.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a smooth, gray patina. The markings are legible. Numbers match. The trademarked grips are in great shape, showing little wear. The bore is in good shape with strong rifling. The action on this revolver is functional with the side plate off, but the travel of the hammer is impeded by the side plate being on the revolver.
