Description:
This is possibly, one of the most historic U.S. military Colt single action revolvers that there is, from the early Indian wars, to guarding the gold shipments by railroad from California, to serving in Cuba and the Philippines! O.W. Ainsworth inspected frame, (#4780), prime Custer range from Lot 5, (#4500-#5504) of which most of the 7th Cavalry revolvers were taken from, as well as the back strap number, (#45x0). Ainsworth inspected cylinder, #7106. Trigger guard #138211 K, very early, "exposed" Ainsworth barrel #1127, (See Graham, and Kopec book pg.14, for reference). This gun is also, one of the RARE, blued frame artillery revolvers. (See Colt Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers pg. 96, Kopec and Fenn). Good mechanics, and an excellent bore. This Colt U.S. revolver has a LOT, going for it, please read the entire Kopec authentication letter that goes with the revolver for all the details!
