NEAR MINT MARLIN 1ST MODEL 444 LEVER ACTION .444 MARLIN 336 STYLE RIFLE WITH SCOPE, EARLY CIRCA 1968. Serial number "AD730XX". Introduced in 1964-65 as in this configuration with factory monte carlo high cheek rest straight gripped stock. Factory 24" Micro-Grooved barrel with mint bore and rifling. 99% of it's original factory brilliant blue balance at edges(faint). Only slight signs of use once or twice so excellent overall. Factory sling swivels. Factory Marlin vent rib pad still pliable. Period Redfield 2 3/4 X scope on Redfield rings and base into factory tap holes on flat top. Non checkered wood correctg for early gun such as this. Factory sights still on gun as well. Hammer extension off right side for scope clearance. At the time the Marlin 444 was the most powerful lever action rifle on the market intended for North American big game. Prime example.
