Description:
This is an honest old etched panel Frontier Colt S.A.A. 44-40 with a 7.5” barrel. It comes with a Colt Factory Letter. This was made in 1880 and shipped to J.P. Lower and Sons, Denver, Colorado. The serial number is 55487 and has all matching numbers. It retains 30% Nickel finish and the balance is a light plum color. The grips retain 65% varnish. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is very good bright and shiny with strong rifling and only the smallest amount of light frosting. All of the markings are very good.
