Description:
Beautiful and very scarce Winchester Model 70 early "transition" rifle in .375 mag with primarily pre war features including rust blued barrel, clover leaf tang, and matted, undrilled rear bridge! S/N 57*** with matching bolt Mfg. 1946. Overall condition is Excellent with only a few slight handling marks and one notable impression/gouge in center of butt R side. 97%+ Blue, 97% Varnish. Barrel is factory drilled for standard 2 leaf rear sight with filler plugs installed. Current rear sight is a Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight which was a factory option. Pad is factory issued as on all 375s, is genuine (not a repro) and looks virtually new beyond some slight patina. This is a difficult rifle to locate in this configuration and condition, and with an undrilled rear bridge.
