Description:
Here is a very decent and affordable example of the elusive Winchester 70 Varmint style in rare .220 Swift caliber. (only about 900 ever made!) S/N 513*** Mfg. 1961. The etched S/N on bolt body matches receiver. Barrel is 26" stainless steel featuring Winchester's unique "smokey blue". The bore is excellent. Barrel is factory drilled for target scope blocks as always, but currently set up with one piece Redfield base and rings in factory drilled receiver holes. The condition of Blue and Varnish is about 95% over majority. There is a dime sized circular area of rubbed off bluing toward muzzle end of barrel, and some light oxidation to floor plate. Wood shows scattered light use marks. All mechanical functions are smooth and in proper working order. Overall, a nice looking rifle in a very scarce style caliber/configuration.
