Description:
Serial #V22304, 7.92mm Mauser, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is one of the Yugoslavian-made rifles contracted shortly after WW2 in order to homogenize the weapons of the nascent Syrian Republic. The metal retains 80-85% of the original blue which has begun to fade along the high edges and projections, as well as a few minor surface scratches along the visible portion of the barrel near the front sight. The matching numbered bolt has an overall bright gray patina with some darkening along the handle, and the walnut stock and handguard have numerous scattered handling marks and blemishes throughout. The rifle comes with an original brown leather sling that is flaked, but still intact and serviceable, and a Syrian-made replacement cleaning rod. This is a seldom seen military Mauser in the U.S., and this example rates very good plus condition overall. FFL or C&R
