58 cal. SN. 24270. 40" barrel with blade front sight & 2 leaf rear sight. Bbl. & Springfield marked lock have 1861 date. Bbl., lock & iron furniture are finished "in the white". Oil finished 3 band hardwood stock with musket buttplate marked "US" at heel. Italian mfg. 98% metal finish showing some faint tarnish. Sock shows small marks. Sound mechanics.
