This Colt was produced around 1944. The pistol's serial number is 36484. This colt is in near new condition! The original barrel shows hardly any shooting or wear. The slide is correctly serial numbered to the frame. The magazine is the correct two tone magazine for this pistol. The magazine is in near new condition. The breech face shows very little wear or shooting. The original grips are in very fine condition. There are some slight dings on both grip panels. The checkering is clean with sharp points. The high polish pre war bluing would rate a strong 98% or better overall condition. The Swartz safety is intact and works fine. This Colt is one of 8059 38 Supers that were fitted with this safety device. The 45 A.C.P. saw the most Swartz safetys installed. It is rare to see this device in the 38 Super! This Colt being a 38 Super and having the Swartz safety is a real collectors find! Having this Colt in this stunning condition with these features brings this pistol over the "top"!
